BAND BIO
The Offspring,are a punk band,and have been together since 1984. The band is made up of lead singer and guitarist Bryan "Dexter" Holland, lead guitarist Kevin "Noodles" Wasserman, bass guitarist Greg Kriesel, and drummer Ron Welty. Holland and Kriesel attended Pacifica High as teenagers, where they originally became interested in punk music after Holland received a Rodney on the ROQ album from his older brother. They started a band called Manic Subsidal along with some cross-country teammates. At the time, they not only didn't own their own instruments, but didn't even know how to play. They learned together, and eventually began to play songs. The band played shows for audiences of up to 20 people at noodle's house.
Their first album the offspring featured such tracks like beheaded,jenifer lost the war and kill the president.It took 2 and a half years to sell all 1000 copies of their first single ill be waiting.
In 1992 they brought out their second album Ignition which had tracks like L.A.P.D,no hero and dirty magic.(its my fave album!)
In 1994 offspring had a lucky break with their album Smash which is the worlds bestselling independent record(along with Greendays Dookie)It featured songs like Bad Habit,Self Esteem and Come out and Play!
In 1997 they brought out Ixnay on the Hombre which features Gone Away,The Meaning of Life and I Choose.
Soon they brought out Americana which has great tracks like Pretty fly (for a white guy)Why dont you get a job? and The Kids Arent Alright!
Today Conspiracy of one is out which has Original Prankster,want you bad and Million Miles Away.Offspring have just done a great tour of europe and me and my mate were at the one in Glasgow!
